About

The "Jazz Poland World Tour" hits Shanghai with a stellar lineup featuring Piotr Lemańczyk on bass, Adam Golicki on drums, and Rafał Sarnecki on guitar. They'll be showcasing their latest album NYC Sessions, which blends jazz, rock, and beautiful melodies, with special appearances by Mike Stern and Leni Stern. If you're into smooth grooves and emotional jazz, this one's for you!

Bass: Piotr Lemańczyk

As the backbone of the trio, Piotr's electric bass provides a warm, resonant tone that forms the foundation of the band's sound. His impeccable sense of timing and deep understanding of jazz harmony lay the groundwork for every track. Piotr has worked with many renowned artists, including Walter Smith III, Jerry Bergonzi, Seamus Blake, Dave Kikoski, Tim Hagans, Brian Melvin, Gary Novak, Avishai Cohen (trumpet), and Soweto Kinch. He has recorded six original albums, earning praise from magazines such as Downbeat, Jazztimes, and Jazz Forum. Besides leading the trio, Piotr is also a member of several top Polish jazz bands and is the only European member of the American Beatlejazz Band.

Drums: Adam Golicki

One of the most popular jazz drummers in Poland, Adam's outstanding rhythm and technique provide the solid foundation for the trio's complex beats and compositions. He has collaborated with many notable artists, including Mike Stern, Urszula Dudziak, Kuba Stankiewicz, Maciej Sikala, and Grzegorz Nagorski. Adam is also a member of the Confusion Project, a piano trio that regularly tours worldwide. As a band leader, Adam has released three albums, with his latest, Reflections, receiving widespread acclaim in 2021.

Guitar: Rafał Sarnecki

A guitarist, composer, and arranger from Warsaw, Rafał moved to New York in 2005 to study jazz and spent much of his career there. During his time in New York, he joined several local bands, including the Lucas Pino Nonet, which performed regularly at the famous Smalls Jazz Club from 2009 to 2019. As a bandleader, Rafał has organized 15 tours in Asia and performed in North and South America and most European countries. He now resides in Warsaw and is a part-time professor at the Łódź Music Academy. Rafał has recorded five albums as a bandleader, three of which—Songs From a New Place (2008), Cat's Dream (2014), and A View From the Treetop (2022)—were nominated for the prestigious Fryderyk Award, Poland's equivalent of the Grammy Awards. His album The Madman Rambles Again (2011) was named one of the best jazz albums of the year by Hi-Fi magazine and the All About Jazz website.
